Size Guide

for Hammock without Spreader Bar

Which size is right for you

Hammock sizes work differently than clothing sizes. What matters is not your height, but:

  1. how much space you have to hang it
  2. how much comfort you are looking for.

The bigger the hammock, the more room to stretch out — and the more comfortable the lie.

Lying diagonally is recommended for all sizes, as it lets the fabric open up and conform to your body.

Space and comfort at a glance:

Size Min. Span Min. Height Comfort
Single 270 cm 135 cm Comfortable
Double 310 cm 155 cm Very comfortable
King 360 cm 180 cm Extra comfortable

How to choose the right size:

  • Limited space, a balcony, or a small garden → Single
  • More room to relax → Double
  • Maximum comfort and plenty of room to stretch out → King
  • Tip: If you would occasionally like to share your hammock with a partner, friends, or children, we recommend going one size up.

How to measure your space:

Start by measuring the distance between your two attachment points — for example between trees, posts, or walls. Then check whether you have enough height for the hanging.

For hammocks without a spreader bar, a good rule of thumb is:
The required height is roughly half the span between the attachment points.

Use the minimum dimensions listed for each size as your guide.

A properly hung hammock should have a gentle sag — not pulled tight. This allows the fabric to open up and support your body comfortably.

Practical tip: Between two walls, you can also hang the hammock diagonally or around a corner. In many cases, this gives you more usable span than a straight mounting.
