The Hammock Hint
The wider the surface of a hammock the greater the comfort! A hammock for a grown-up should never be less than 140 cm wide.
In this context a lot of hammock suppliers talk about XXL or king-size hammocks. If, however, you are looking for real comfort, this is the absolute minimum you require.
Width of the hammock <100 cm = Baby-hammocks and hammocks for special purposes, i.e. for the installation underneath loft beds.
100 – 130 cm width: small hammock, ideal for travelling purposes.
140 – 150 cm width: comfortable hammock for one person, suitable for 2 persons only to a limited extent; ideal for children.
160 - 185 cm width: luxuriously comfortable for one or two grown-ups; absolutely ideal for hammock-experts!
