MADE-BY
In order to improve efficiency and transparency in building a sustainable supply chain, we cooperate with independent organisations and subject ourselves and our suppliers to a voluntary annual audit conducted by MADE-BY.
This audit takes the environmental and social conditions on the production site into consideration. The results of the audit are then published on the internet by means of a Scorecard and in the annual report of MADE-BY. We consider the Scorecard our annual starting point for further improvement.
Fashion with respect for people and planet
MADE-BY is a non-profit multi-stakeholder organisation working for the improvement of the environmental and social conditions in the textile industry.
Being a member of MADE-BY enables us to exchange ideas with different people from the textile industry, learning from other manufacturers. It is our goal to make our products even more sustainable and contribute to improving the situation for human beings and the environment.
Once a year, the social and ecological conditions at the production sites of our suppliers in Colombia, Brazil and India are analysed and assessed by MADE-BY co-workers. The results are summarised in a so-called Scorecard that can be viewed here: http://www.made-by.org/partner-brand/42/la-siesta/scorecard
This form of publication encourages members to continuously improve, to question the status quo and to integrate their striving for sustainability into all crucial parts of their enterprise.
The MADE-BY evaluation is based on established standards such as the SA8000 (for the evaluation of working conditions at the manufacturing plants) or the ISO14000 (a standard for assessing environmental topics at the manufacturing plants).
